Tannenbaum Farms offers a wide variety of
tree species, including Fraser fir, Colorado blue spruce,
Concolor fir, Douglas fir, Balsam fir, White pine, and Scotch
pine. Fraser fir and Douglas fir are available in sizes up to
and including 12-feet. A brief description of each species
includes:
|
Fraser
fir – our most popular species. This species is
known for its soft, short needles, nearly perfect natural
symmetry, pleasing fragrance, excellent needle retention,
and ability to remain fresh for extended display periods.
Colorado blue spruce – a traditional favorite. An
elegant tree with stiff branches and needles that contribute
to decorations that are more traditional and oftentimes
heavier. Layered branches and foliage lend themselves to
“an old fashioned look” when decorated in a traditional
manner. | |
Douglas fir – a long time favorite. A tree with
soft foliage, relatively short needles, and a pleasant
fragrance that is easy to decorate. Needle retention is
good and the soft, relatively short needles contribute to a
very traditional looking tree when decorated.
Concolor fir – a tree with great fragrance. A
relatively new-comer to the Christmas tree industry this
species is increasing in popularity because of its soft,
very fragrant foliage and pleasing, citrus-like fragrance.
Good needle retention and strong branches are contributing
to increased interest in this species.
Balsam
fir – long-time traditional favorite. Widely
recognized by its soft foliage and straight stem, this tree
is best known for its very “Christmasy” fragrance. Balsam
fir remains a favorite for many who desire a very
traditional Christmas tree.
White
pine – an elegant species. While not as popular as
some other species this longer needled tree is known for its
excellent needle retention and elegant appearance. The
thick, soft-foliage of this species makes for an attractive
appearance when decorated with white lights and lightweight
decorations. | |
Scotch
pine – a traditional species with excellent needle
retention. This species, although less popular among
consumers than in the past, is known for its long lasting
foliage and traditional appearance. |
